| Description | SUS631 (17-7PH) is one of the most widely used precipitation-hardening stainless steels, offering the ability to significantly increase strength and hardness through heat treatment while maintaining the excellent corrosion resistance characteristics of 18-8 stainless steel. Available from soft solution-treated conditions to full-hard rolled tempers, SUS631 can achieve strength levels second only to high-carbon martensitic hardened steels when appropriate precipitation-hardening treatments are applied. In the solution heat-treated condition, the material provides more than 30% elongation, allowing deep drawing and complex forming operations. After precipitation hardening, strength, hardness, and spring performance are dramatically improved. Main Features:
While SUS631 is often difficult to source in a wide range of tempers due to limited market availability, TOKKIN can supply small-lot quantities from the softest solution-treated condition through full-hard EH material, depending on customer processing and performance requirements. TOKKIN supplies a variety of spring stainless steel materials in accordance with JIS G4313 and related international standards. |
