MP35N is classified as a non-magnetic Co-Ni-Cr-Mo (Cobalt-Nickel-Chromium-Molybdenum) alloy which has very high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and high fatigue strength.

It has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking caused by sulfides and shows excellent performance in natural gas drilling in high hydrogen sulfide atmospheres. In seawater, it has the highest resistance to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion and pitting.

Additionally, this is often used in medical applications such as implants and dental instruments because of its high biocompatibility. It is also used in temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 454C.

TOKKIN supplies a wide variety of shapes, including foils and sheets, as well as ultrafine pipes, rods, and plates.

MP35N is a registered trademark of SPS Technologies, Inc.

Exceptional Strength and Corrosion Resistance

MP35N is engineered to withstand harsh environments, thanks to its superior corrosion resistance and high tensile strength. This robust alloy performs reliably in both medical and industrial applications, ensuring safety and longevity, particularly in implants and offshore plant equipment.

Versatile Forms and Surface Options

Available in a diverse range of shapes-including coil, sheet, wire, bar, and pipe-MP35N addresses varied project requirements. Customers can choose bright or dull surfaces and specify the temper, from annealed to aged, to match their unique production or application needs.

FAQ's of MP35N - UNS R30035 | Co-Cr-Fe-Ni-Mo Alloy:

Q: How is MP35N (UNS R30035) alloy utilized in the medical and aerospace fields?

A: MP35N is extensively used for medical implants and dental instruments due to its exceptional biocompatibility and resistance to body fluids. In aerospace, its high strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance make it ideal for aircraft components exposed to severe environments.

Q: What are the available shapes and size ranges for MP35N offered by Japanese manufacturers?

A: The alloy is supplied as coil, sheet, wire, bar, and pipe, with widths from 3.0 to 300 mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.010 to 2.0 mm, making it suitable for a wide array of fabrication requirements.

Q: When should I choose bright versus dull surface finishes for MP35N?

A: Bright finishes are typically selected when visual appearance or easy inspection is essential, while dull finishes may be preferred for components where reflection is undesirable or where surface processing follows installation.

Q: Where are the main benefits of using MP35N in offshore plants and industrial applications?

A: In offshore environments, MP35N's corrosion resistance protects components from aggressive marine conditions, while its mechanical strength ensures consistent performance under heavy loads or stress.

Q: What processing conditions (tempers) are available for MP35N, and how do they affect its properties?

A: MP35N can be supplied in annealed, skin passed, as-rolled (hard), or aged tempers. Annealed offers good formability, as-rolled and aged provide enhanced strength, and skin passing improves surface quality and dimensional accuracy.

Q: How should I verify the chemical composition of MP35N for my application?

A: Chemical composition details for MP35N are commonly referenced through official documentation or images provided by manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance with stringent application standards.
