Description TDS-1 is a proprietary high-performance ferritic stainless steel designed to provide an exceptional combination of strength, corrosion resistance, and soft magnetic properties. The material is specifically engineered for electromagnetic applications requiring efficient magnetic response, magnetic shielding capability, and long-term durability.

TDS-1 exhibits both high magnetic flux density and low coercive force, enabling rapid magnetization and demagnetization while delivering excellent magnetic shielding performance. Through magnetic annealing, the material can function as an electromagnetic stainless steel suitable for a wide variety of electronic and industrial applications.

Compared with conventional ferritic stainless steels such as SUS430, TDS-1 offers enhanced corrosion resistance while maintaining strong mechanical properties and magnetic performance.

One of the most significant advantages of TDS-1 is its ability to replace expensive specialty materials such as 42 Alloy (42Ni), phosphor bronze, SUY, and Permalloy in many applications. While offering electrical conductivity similar to 42 Alloy, TDS-1 has a coefficient of thermal expansion approximately half that of 42Ni and can reduce material costs by up to 50%.

Main Features:
  1. Electromagnetic Stainless Steel
Can be optimized through magnetic annealing to achieve excellent electromagnetic performance and soft magnetic characteristics.
  2. Excellent Soft Magnetic Properties
High magnetic flux density and low coercive force provide superior magnetization, demagnetization, and magnetic shielding performance.
  3. Improved Corrosion Resistance
Offers better corrosion resistance than SUS430, supporting long-term reliability in demanding environments.
  4. Alternative to 42 Alloy (42Ni)
Provides similar electrical conductivity while significantly reducing thermal expansion and material costs.
  5. Cost Reduction Opportunity
Material substitution from 42Ni can reduce costs by as much as 50% while maintaining required performance.
  6. Proven Replacement Material
Successfully adopted as a replacement for 42Ni, phosphor bronze, SUY, Permalloy, and other specialty alloys in numerous applications.
  7. Ultra-Thin Foil Capability
Available in foil thicknesses below 0.10 mm and suitable for small-lot production requirements.
TDS-1 is widely used in shielding cases, electromagnetic shields, capacitors, actuators, sensors, electronic components, magnetic circuits, and precision industrial equipment where a balance of magnetic performance, corrosion resistance, dimensional stability, and cost efficiency is required.

Its combination of soft magnetic characteristics, conductivity, corrosion resistance, and replacement potential for high-cost specialty alloys makes TDS-1 an attractive solution for advanced electronic and electromagnetic applications.
